Setting up your indoor tabletop fountain is simple, but a little preparation ensures optimal performance and enjoyment. Here's a quick checklist to get you ready:

1. Choose the Perfect Spot

  • Select a stable, level surface
  • Ensure the area can support the fountain's weight when filled
  • Keep away from electronics or items sensitive to moisture

2. Electrical Access

  • Locate a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlet within reach
  • Avoid using extension cords for safety
  • Ensure the cord path won't create a tripping hazard

3. Protect Your Furniture

  • Place a waterproof mat or tray under the fountain
  • This catches splashes and protects your surfaces

4. Water Source

  • Have a pitcher or watering can ready for easy filling
  • Consider using distilled water to reduce mineral buildup

5. Create a Clutter-Free Zone

  • Clear the surrounding area of small objects
  • This prevents items from accidentally falling into the fountain

6. Lighting (Optional)

  • Consider ambient lighting to enhance the fountain's ambiance
  • Ensure any added lights are safe for use near water

Pro Tip: Before setting up, unbox your fountain in a well-lit area to inspect all parts and read the instruction manual thoroughly.

With these simple preparations, you'll be ready to enjoy the soothing sounds and beauty of your new indoor tabletop fountain in no time. If you have any questions about placement or setup, our customer support team is always here to help at hello@waveandleaf.shop.

Choosing the right water for your fountain is crucial for its longevity and performance. Here's what we recommend:

  • Distilled water: This is the ideal choice. Distilled water is free from minerals and impurities that can cause buildup or staining over time.
  • Filtered water: A good alternative if distilled water isn't available. Ensure it's been through a high-quality filtration system to remove most minerals and contaminants.
  • Tap water: While usable, it's not optimal. If you must use tap water, consider these tips:
    • Let it sit for 24 hours to allow chlorine to evaporate
    • Use a water treatment product designed for fountains to prevent mineral buildup

Avoid using:

  • Softened water (high sodium content can damage the fountain)
  • Unfiltered well water (may contain harmful bacteria or excessive minerals)

Remember, regular water changes and cleaning will help maintain your fountain's beauty and functionality, regardless of the water type you choose.

If your fountain's motor is making unusual noises, don't worry! This is often an easy fix. Follow these steps to quiet things down:

Check the water level:

  • Ensure the pump is fully submerged
  • Low water levels are the most common cause of motor noise. If the water level is too low, the pump may make more noise as it struggles to draw water

Inspect for debris:

  • Turn off the fountain
  • Remove any debris from the pump and surrounding area

Reposition the pump:

  • Ensure the pump isn't touching the sides of the fountain
  • Make sure the pump is positioned correctly in the fountain. Sometimes, adjusting its placement can help reduce noise. Also, make sure the pump is secured to the bottom of the fountain bowl, just by gently pushing down on it to engage the suction cups on the basin.
  • Use rubber feet or a small foam mat to absorb vibrations

Adjust the flow rate:

  • Your model has an adjustable flow, try reducing it slightly
  • Sometimes, a lower flow can significantly reduce noise

Inspect for Air Bubbles:

  • Try turning off the pump for a few minutes to allow any trapped air to escape
  • If there are air bubbles trapped in the pump, it can cause noise

Clean the pump:

  • Unplug the pump, use a soft-bristled brush and running water to remove buildup
  • Mineral buildup can cause unusual noises

If these steps don't resolve the issue, please contact our customer support team at hello@waveandleaf.shop. We're here to help ensure your fountain provides a peaceful, soothing experience.

Maintaining proper water levels is crucial for your fountain's performance and longevity. Here's what you need to know:

Daily check:

  • Inspect the water level every day
  • Ensure it's well above the pump's intake valve

Signs it's time to add water:

  • Water flow seems weaker than usual
  • You hear a gasping or struggling sound from the motor
  • The pump is making more noise than normal

Why it's important:

  • Adequate water levels ensure smooth, soothing water flow
  • It prevents pump damage and extends its lifespan

Critical warning:

  • Never let the pump run dry
  • Operating without water can quickly burn out the motor

Pro tips:

  • Mark the ideal water level inside your fountain for easy reference
  • In hot weather or low humidity, you may need to add water more frequently
  • Keep a watering can nearby for quick and easy top-ups

Remember, a well-maintained water level not only keeps your fountain running smoothly but also preserves the tranquil atmosphere it creates in your space. If you have any concerns about your fountain's water levels or performance, don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support team at hello@waveandleaf.shop.

Maintaining your tabletop fountain's cleanliness is key to its longevity and optimal performance. Here's a simple guide to keep your fountain fresh and inviting:

Weekly maintenance:

  • Wipe down visible surfaces with a soft, damp cloth
  • Remove any debris from the water (leaves, dust, etc.)
  • Top up the water level if needed

Monthly deep clean:

  • Empty the fountain completely
  •  Soak stones in a mixture of distilled white vinegar and water to remove hard water deposits
  • Gently scrub all surfaces with a mild soap solution
  • Clean the pump by taking off the outer shell that covers the propeller: use a soft-bristled brush and running water to clean the inside propeller, tubing, and plumbing
  • Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue
  • Refill with fresh water

Seasonal care:

  • Every 3-4 months, disassemble the fountain for a thorough cleaning
  • Descale the pump and other components if you notice mineral buildup

Pro tips:

  • Use distilled water to minimize mineral deposits
  • Bleach is not recommended as it can be harsh on the components and dangerous to pets or children who may have access to the fountain water
  • Equal parts distilled white vinegar and water as a cleaning agent also works well to prevent algae growth and build-up
  • In areas with hard water, you may need to clean more frequently

Remember, a well-maintained fountain not only looks better but also operates more efficiently and lasts longer. If you notice any persistent issues, don't hesitate to contact our customer support team at hello@waveandleaf.shop for personalized advice.

If you're experiencing water overflow, don't worry! This is a common issue with simple solutions. Here's how to keep your fountain running smoothly:

1. Adjust the pump flow:

  • Locate the water flow regulator on your pump
  • Gradually reduce the flow until spillage stops
  • This is often the quickest and easiest fix

2. Rearrange the decorative elements:
If adjusting the pump doesn't solve the issue:

  • Unplug the pump for safety
  • Reposition rocks or other decorative items to partially cover the water outlet
  • This can significantly reduce water flow and prevent splashing

3. Fine-tune the setup:

  • After rearranging, plug the pump back in
  • Observe the water flow and make small adjustments as needed
  • Sometimes, minor tweaks can make a big difference

4. Check for levelness:

  • Ensure your fountain is on a flat, level surface
  • Use a small level tool if necessary
  • Adjust the fountain's feet or base if it's slightly tilted

5. Inspect for blockages:

  • Look for any debris that might be redirecting water flow
  • Clean the fountain if necessary

Remember, finding the perfect balance may take a little experimentation. If you continue to experience issues, our customer support team is always here to help you achieve fountain perfection at hello@waveandleaf.shop.

  • Chemical-free water: No additives or harmful substances are used in the water circulation system.
  • Pet-friendly design: Perfect for curious cats, thirsty dogs, and small indoor pets.

Benefits for your pets:

  • Fresh, moving water encourages pets to drink more
  • The gentle sound can be soothing for animals
  • Provides an attractive water source that may reduce mess from traditional water bowls

Your choice:

  • If you prefer to keep it for human enjoyment only, simply place it in an area less accessible to pets.
  • For pet lovers, it can become a delightful hydration station for your furry companions.

Remember, while the fountain is safe for animals, regular cleaning is still important to maintain water quality for all users – human and animal alike. Whether you choose to share your fountain with your pets or keep it as a personal retreat, you can rest easy knowing it's safe and pet-friendly.

While the idea of adding aromatic oils to your fountain is tempting, we recommend caution. Here's what you need to know:

Safety First:

  • Most essential oils can damage fountain pumps and materials
  • Oils may leave residue, affecting water clarity and flow

Alternative Options:

  1. Nearby Diffuser: Place an essential oil diffuser close to your fountain for a similar effect without risk
  2. Scented Stones: Use porous stones or ceramics with a drop of oil near (not in) the fountain
  3. Plant Additions: Add naturally fragrant plants around your fountain (e.g., lavender, mint)

If You Must Use Oils:

  • Use only 100% pure, water-soluble essential oils
  • Limit to 1-2 drops per gallon of water
  • Stick to gentle oils like lavender or lemon
  • Clean your fountain more frequently to prevent buildup

Remember, the natural sound of flowing water is often soothing enough on its own. If you have any doubts or questions about water additives, please don't hesitate to contact our customer support team for personalized advice at hello@waveandleaf.shop.

Yes, we offer gift cards that can be purchased on our website or in-store. They make a great gift for any occasion!

Unfortunately, we don't currently offer battery-operated options for our custom tabletop fountains. Our designs specifically require 80 GPH (gallons per hour) pumps to create the perfect water flow and visual effect. While we've extensively researched this possibility, battery-powered pumps currently available on the market can't consistently maintain this 80 GPH requirement, and solar alternatives would require panels larger than the fountains themselves, which defeats the purpose of our space-saving tabletop designs (not to mention that the panels require being in direct sunlight to power the pump).

We would be happy to explore options for cord management solutions that can help create a clean, polished look with your fountain if you're interested. Many of our customers have found creative ways to minimize cord visibility using simple techniques. Please email us at hello@waveandleaf.shop to get started.

We're excited about the innovations happening in pump technology and solar-battery systems. As these technologies continue to advance, we look forward to a future when compact, high-performance battery-powered pumps become available.
